Mr. Rose goes to Washington

So I have lived out in Washington DC for more than two years and I have not had many visitors. My parents came in May '06, my friend Kyle came as did Shane and Cyrus. And that's it. Even my sisters have never come out to visit. So it was extra fun to have my friend Josh Rose here for a visit. His sister Liz just graduated from law school at Georgetown and Josh was in town to celebrate that. Josh has a ton going on in his life including a baby on the way.

Josh and I were among the most crazed about baseball when we were younger and not much has changed. Baseball turned out to be a crucial component of his trip out here.

Josh and I at the new nationals park. The Nats won the game and we enjoyed the goodness of Ben's Chili Bowl.

After another loss ripped from the jaws of victory in Flag Football on Saturday my roommate Dan was nice enough to drive me into the city and drop me off at Liz's apartment. We jumped in Josh's rental, grabbed his mom and aunt at the Hotel and drove up to Baltimore.

As I have mentioned many times before, Camden Yards is a great place to watch a game. It was pretty crowded because it was interleauge rivalry weekend. The Angels were playing the Dodgers out west and that meant the O's were playing the Nats. I didn't really care either way who won, only whether or not I would get to eat the funnel cake. In case you were wondering I definitely did eat the funnel cake.

On the way home I was parched so we stopped and get a slurpee from 7-11.

TJ wins the Presidents Race as Teddy is robbed again.

On Monday night Josh and I went to the Nats game where they were playing the Phillies. The new ball park is great and we had seats where we could see the action very well. One of the notable moments of the game was when the Beer Guy came down the aisle and was basically standing next began to scream (I'm hardly exaggerating) "COORS LIGHT!" over and over again. There was a point where I sort of considered buying a beer just to get him to go away (j/k). We enjoyed the game and dominated some Half Smokes from Ben's Chili Bowl. This was Josh's first Nat's game so Josh had never seen the President's race before. I told him about the conspiracy against Teddy and I cheered loudly for the Bull Moose to no avail. Teddy still lost.

Mrs. Hawkins would be so pleased to know that we still remember Father Serra.

On Tuesday morning Josh and his mom came in the office for a tour of the Capitol Building. I took them all around and I think they had a nice time.

It was great to have MFJR in here to see my life a little bit. So Jordan, Jeff, B-Rock, Barber, and the rest of you come and see me.

Boo to the Nats for their conspiracy against Teddy. I was at a game recently and Teddy had a huge lead when suddenly the Geico Gecko jumps out of nowhere and takes him out just before the finish line. However, in some ways its not surprising. My dad recently observed that it appears as though Teddy is being propelled by a short, fat and out of shape person. Kind of hard to win when you're sucking wind down the final stretch.

Cool - especially the clearly visible staff badge and blackberry holster - you've arrived and I'm proud of you.
