Roast Beef in DC

Well before I get to the main topic of my blog I wanted to mention a few things.

First off this past weekend was one of the best non championship sports weekends of my life. The Angels swept the Mariners and K-Rod set a new single season saves record, the Cougars dominated UCLA 59-0, and the 49ers even had an improbable overtime victory on the road in Seattle. Add on top of that the fact that I got to play flag football on Saturday morning and you can see why this was a great sports weekend. I made sure to wear my Cougars and 49ers ties to work this week.

As I am blogging I have the show Prison Break on in the background. I used to really like this show. Now it is pretty terrible and a huge part of that is that fact that Michael Rappaport plays a prominent role. He is just so terrible. He is as bad an actor as Paul Walker. Yeah that bad.

I really love blogging, it is seriously one of my favorite things. I haven't been as prolific as I had been in the past but I want to be. We'll see what happens.

So last week one of my oldest and best friends Ryan P. Barber came to visit Washington DC for work. I was pumped to have my buddy in town and to show him around a bit.

Ryan and one of his coworkers came into the office and I along with my two new interns took him on a tour. I showed him all around the Capitol and I am pretty sure that he was impressed by my tour skills.

I introduced Ryan to all of my coworkers and showed him around my office. My boss even had a minute to say hi and chat a bit with Ryan, which was really nice.

Ryan was only here for a few days so it was crucial that we hit the high points. That off course being a trip to Ben's Chili Bowl for some delicious Half Smokes and a quick trip to the White House for a picture. Andrea was with us and I think she enjoyed hearing about some of my old adventures. And despite my desperate attempts to hide my nerdish tendencies Ryan couldn't help but share a few of the nerdy things we used to do. I assure her on a regular basis that I was not and never have been a nerd but I'm not sure she believes me.

I am so proud of Ryan, he has great new job, he and Lauren are soon celebrating their fifth anniversary and having a baby on the way. I never ceased to be amazed by the great things my friends are doing.

Peter, you are correct. I enjoyed hearing about your old adventures, particularly the one involving the toilet. I let the nerdish tendencies speak for themselves. ;)

P.S. I'm glad you don't wear/own a shirt with the word "fart" on it.

U aren't a nerd because if u are then that means that I am... and I know that I'm not a nerd! So there's proof for you.

Hooray for Ryan!

Before I forget I have to tell you that this morning Savannah was talking about her birthday (yes, the one in JANUARY) and I told her it was going to be a smaller party with probably just 5 kids this year. She started trying to figure out who she would invite and assign everyone their number (ie, "Ava will be #1 and Adelle will be #2) and every time (she was thinking of many configurations since she has so many friends) she would assign YOU one of the numbers. "Okay - so Uncle Peter will be #3 and Lacy will be #4 . . ."

It was so so sweet, she never wanted to leave you out- and I'm afraid you might have set an expensive precident - so get ready for a Fancy Nancy birthday party around January 19th 2009.

Love you.
