So on Saturday night I went to a party. And it was fine. Typical, party with people standing around, eating, drinking, either trying to avoid having to talk to people or conversely trying to get people to notice them. Pretty standard stuff. On my way there I said to Andrea " I thought that once I had a girlfriend I wouldn't have to go to these anymore." I think she replied, I hate these parties as much or more than you do.
I was sitting here in front of my computer I thought of the lyrics from the song "Once in a Lifetime" by Talking Heads. Over and over in the chorus they sing "Same as it ever was, same as it ever was." And that is exactly what it was same as it ever was. That being said I am certainly not the only person who has this feeling. It seems no one likes these parties yet we go. Why? I guess because we aren't creative or proactive enough to come up with something better. I mean the only reason I ever went to parties was to meet girls. And since I have met the only girl I care to meet, I find very little utility in standing around having awkward conversations. Now I do want to make one note. My friend and a newly engaged man Brian "B-Rock" Rowland (congrats man!) used to have to deal with D-Bags when he went to parties in SoCal. You know the type, the guys who wear Volcom shirts that are one size too small ( possibly a dated reference) and spend an inordinate amount of time doing curls and busting out the guitar. DB's are much more rare out here.
Well I was catching up on my SNL (Jordan have you been watching?) and I saw this awesome new digital short. I laughed so much I had to watch it twice on my TiVo. Andy and Bill at their finest.
I know that Pete Chat attracts some conservative readers who are likely to be offended by the clip. I'm sorry you feel that way.

haha. That vid was very funny. I am SOOO happy we get to hang out this weekend! I was wondering if we should throw a party...We could invite Cousin Christopher and his date Harry Potter, Chris Shaw, TYLER, and Tyrel.
Dear Peter,
I am 'died' watching that video. It was hilarious. Where are you going to be this weekend? Whittier? If so, let's watch a Lakers game. Don has a flat screen.
Awesome,
As you well know, I hate those parties. I'm glad we can commiserate on this.
Don't post clips like that - do you know how much it hurts to "belly laugh" when you are NINE months pregnant? Answer: A lot.
PS - Marc and I have been watching some old "Deep Thoughts" by Jack Handy clips and laughing so hard. Remember that book you had and how we would read them and laugh so hard and Dad just did not get it? funny memories.
