I hate to admit it, but yesterday the weather here in Whittier was terrible. I relish the opportunity to tell people how great the weather is when they are suffering through snow, and cold.
It rained all day, and not just sprinkling, I am talking about serious, sustained rain. I had planned on enjoying all that southern California had to offer in the outdoor variety yesterday, but instead just headed to the movies. Some time ago I had seen the trailer for a movie called...The Box. I was thrilled when it said it was rated PG-13 because I like a scary movie, but often times they are rated R which I no longer watch (last rated R movie I saw was Universal Soldier 2 back in summer of 2000).
Although I had made plans to see it in Washington, I never had the chance. Well I was pleased to see that The Box was playing at our local dollar movie. With a package of Sour Patch Kids, an Almond Snickers, and an Orange Crush, I sat down and was ready to enjoy.
Now I consider myself a pretty intelligent guy, often times I can figure out where a a movie is going, long before it gets there. The Box however I had no idea about. The movie was ok, but I left the theatre thinking, what was that about. It was sort of strange, and even though the director did blatant exposition in the movie, I still didn't really understand what was happening.
I left the theatre with the idea that I would watch UFC 107, unfortunately the places I assumed would be showing it were not. So I went home and watched a Zombie movie on TV. This one was a little easier to figure out. Don't get bitten by a zombie because if you do you will turn into a zombie. There was no button in a box to push. I did realize that the idea of Zombies does terrify me a bit.
The Box was not really scary, I jumped once. Instead it was more weird than anything. I give it a mild recommendation as a rental.

It just looks weird. The guy in it is hot though.
You crack me up!
Oh! Also, I'm home in Glendora - let's play. In N'Out?
