After a long day of packing, moving, arranging, and arguing, the Jazz were in town for a game against the Wizards. So as a former Jazz fan I went with JJ to the game. We had great seats, about six rows behind the Jazz bench. Andre Kirilenko was injured and not playing in the game. I yelled to him "Hey Andre", and got a thumbs up. I was pretty pleased with myself. I enjoyed the game, and I think JJ tolerated the fact that I spent most of the game talking about how awesome Kobe is. We saw Senator Orrin Hatch there, but both of us had already met him so we didn't get a picture.
The highlight of the game was without a doubt the Kiss Cam. I'm sure most of you know that at sporting events during a time out the camera will find couples in the audience and they are encouraged to smooch on camera. Hilarity usually ensues as couples are either really excited, timid, and sometimes not even couples which leads to some very awkward exchanges. The climax usually showing the visitors bench in this case Kyle Korver (yay Danielle!) and Fisenko. Korver was game but Fisenko denied him. However the really great thing was the fact that the put on Meg (HUGE JAZZ FAN) and Jim. I literally jumped out of my seat (my cell phone flew two rows in front of me ) and yelled to everyone in my section, "That's my roommate, and he's engaged!" It was epic.
Meg likes them tall and slender
After the game I convinced JJ to watch UFC 111. We went to Bailey's in Crystal City and it was a packed house. I did my best to explain the intricacies of MMA to JJ despite the fact that I barely understand them myself. We texted Jordan throughout the evening, trading predictions. It was a pretty good event, and JJ got to see knockouts, submissions, and decision victories. George St. Pierre was awesome as usual, and he even wore my newest shirt, which was strange because I didn't get mine until yesterday.
Frankly it looks better on me* than on GSP, but I suppose that is to be expected. I mean c'mon...this is happening.
