I don't remember exactly when I sold my Honda Accord. I'm pretty sure it was the summer of 2008. My 49er's Burgundy Accord served me well in college for the most part. I was extremely lucky to have my good friend and former mission companion Adam Bodell, who would fix it anytime it needed a little work.
Ever since I moved out to Washington DC in 2005, I have been relegated to public transportation. My 49er mobile just didn't have a trip across country in it. It hasn't been horrible sans automobile, but for the longest time I have wanted a car of my own. None of this is news, after my dating life, my search for a car is probably the second most prevalent topic on Pete Chat.
About two weeks ago I was walking as usual, it was a hot day and I was on my way to pick up my dry cleaning. I called my sister CHRISSI, and she was trying to sell me on a Toyota. I kept telling her, I know a Toyota is the practical choice, but I don't want to be practical. Exasperated with my obstinate attitude she says go get whatever you want. So I did.
Finally after diligently researching, test driving, and consideration, I bought a car.
As practical as another Accord would have been it just wasn't speaking to me. I saw this car, and thought that is the car I want. I drove it and the feeling was definitely confirmed. I love my BMW 530i.
It drives awesome, goes 0-60 in seven seconds and dominates the GW Parkway on the way to church. I'm glad to finally be among the driving masses again.

Very, very luxury. If I come visit you will you chauffeur me around?
I saw you in old town on Sunday on the way home from church, noticed the car, and thought it looked fabulous. Excellent choice. Still, The Bandit and I passed you. Maybe next time you'll actually dominate.

P.S. Dave P is proud of your choice.

wow! impressive! Now you will DEF have to come see me in that ;-)
Very impressive. That is a great car to get before you are married. That is a secret, bring things like a nice car, big tv, etc into the marriage. It is a lot harder to get them once you are in it. I may be making a Philly trip in the next few weeks I expect you to drive down in the BMW. Congrats man, I am definately jealous.
Ya, its cool, but I hear the '92 models are in style now. The '03s are so last year.
I still say that it's false advertising, but I'm happy for you Pete. You'll love the club. ;)
