May December in October

First off, yes the niners lost but was that not an amazing quote by new head coach Mike Singletary. Yes it is definitely my G Chat Status. Shout out to Chris Alvarez and Stephanie Ybarra. We have been the three musketeers out here and they have joined me in my almost daily milk shake runs. Now the main event.

Dad, Me, Chrissi, and modesty

With these elements and a few others my family and I celebrated the wedding of my cousin Kim to her new (ish) husband Ernie.

Luxury

When I got home exactly a month ago my dad told me that my mom's cousin Kim was getting married. Kim is my mom's first cousin making her my first cousin once removed. Although I don't know Kim super well she has always been very nice to me. Her dad and my Grandpa are brothers and they look a lot alike.

My dad wasn't so keen on going by himself so I agreed to go with him, Chrissi too and even Don wanted to come. The wedding and the reception would take place at the Friendly Hills Country Club, the site of such notable events as Don and Chrissi's Reception , Jordan and Marlo's Reception (I missed it because I was in Norway...HUGE MISTAKE) Lauren's 18th birthday party (Jenny asked me to Winter Formal...WOO HOOO) and many a fruit punch courtesy of the Peeler's tab (thanks Kreg, JJ remember the time with Kreg, FHCC and us convincing him that Clint was mad?)

The weather could not have been nicer, we were seated by my cousin and author extraordinaire Chris McKeon (head usher, he clearly felt right at home ). The ceremony was preformed by my Stake President and home teacher and it was a nice and rather brief ceremony. We all had our theories as to why that was the case.

Kim looked beautiful and had many sparkling pieces of jewelry and she was very happy. I think Ernie was happy , I mean well...uh....well...yeah. Let's just say that there would be definite similarities if my dad started dating girls from my ward. You go Ernie...more power to you.

The New(ish)ly Weds

After the ceremony I chatted with my old boss and current cousin as well as Jordan's mom and dad. Don's Aunt and Uncle were there too. My dad does a pretty good job of tooting my horn because it seemed like the whole family knew I was working in Washington, I told people how I was out here for the fall and would be returning to DC next month. I gave my take on the elections and the political environment, and totally convinced people that I was way more important than I really am.

Murder on the Dancefloor

The reception was great. Despite our best efforts we could not convince my dad to stay very long. He just doesn't like these types of things without mom being there. But I had a great time with the cousins, eating, laughing and people watching. My Uncle Danny showed pictures to all who would see and I pointed out that it had a certain Aunt Maudie quality to it. I don't think he has forgiven me for that.

I know that most grown men look ridiculous on the dance floor and I am no exception, but I do love to dance, and the McCousins and I were eager to drop it like it was hot. We got the party started and soon after the dance floor was packed. They played a few ABBA songs and I was loving it.

Dinner was tasty and we had a great time with our extended family. I know my mom would have loved it, and I wish Jenn could have been there too. I am aware of the pressure on me to have a wedding of my own if for no other reason than I have four flower girls and a ring bearer all set to go.

I want to ensure the newlyweds have a great time in there new lives but that really depends.

I vividly remember the red truck crossing the Cadillac on Condesa with both cars going in opposite directions. I don't remember Clint getting mad about anything ever but somehow we convinced Kreg that Clint was visibly upset as we drove by.

Wow - so bummed I wasn't there. And what, no speaking of how you also rocked the dance floor at Chrissi and Don's wedding reception? I believe it was the Robocop, or maybe the cabbage patch?

Nice shirt.

PS - Is Dad wearing his new shirt? I can't tell . . .

PPS - The random letter confirmation for this post was "sisto". Coincedence? I think not.

That does look like a reasonable amount of musto and gusto. Although I'm still skeptical about your ability to drop it like its hot. I'm excited to watch you prove yourself!
