First off for any of you who read the title of this post and thought it related to McMary and her alternate Facebook account...no such luck. No it is in fact about my growing anticipation for Football Season. After a successful NBA season, and the Angels playing well and coming to the area at the end of the week, sports are the one thing in my life that I am pretty pleased about.
I haven't been to a game in Provo since 2005. I know a real tragedy. When I was in Utah last fall the Cougars happened to be playing against Colorado St. in Ft. Collins so I didn't get to see them there.
In 2006 the Cougars came to Boston and I went up there with David, Scott, and Tracy. This was before I really started to maintain Pete Chat so I never blogged about it.
On Saturday morning we drove out to BWI and flew up to Boston. We figured out public transportation, and some nice strangers (fellow Cougars) let us put our stuff at their place. We headed up to the stadium to watch the game. Although BYU lost it was one of the best and most exciting games I had ever been to. David managed to get us front row tickets and we not only ended up on TV, Scott, David and I were on the team video for the year. It was awesome.
I had never been to Boston and although I hate all things Chowd related I actually thought the city was pretty great.
This was one of the trips where we decided to just do it right. That meant eating fresh lobster. Scott and I both went with the Lobster. I feel like David got something else and sort of regretted it. I was pretty excited about the Lobster and the bib. We walked all over downtown Boston, took pictures and just soaked it all in.
One of my favorite interns of all time Jessica was a Sophomore at Harvard at the time. She showed me to the church in the morning and then came and got me when it was over. We did the grand tour of Harvard. My final verdict. It's old.
Church was cool, I saw a few old friends from my mission, from BYU,and random people I had met from either Duck Beach or an earlier trip to New York. The BYU Cheerleaders came to the singles ward too. There were a couple that I immediately fell in love with. At the game the day before I had run into my old friend Cyrus Larson. It was so cool to catch up with him, and find out about his time at Dental school at BU.
Cyrus took me around the ward and introduced me to all of his friends. He pointed out one of his professor's, and I'm like "I know her." I don't know if Jeff still reads Pete Chat because he never comments but it was this girl he had gone on a few dates with when we first got back to school in 2002. Now you might be wondering, Peter how do you remember someone you met maybe twice four years earlier (and three years since then). Simple, you rarely run into someone describes themselves as a mixture between Katie Holmes and Brittany Spears. Her name was Brenda. And the crazy thing about it was that she did indeed look a bit like that.
That night there was a fireside at the church (which sadly enough recently burned down) and the speaker was a Judge from where else but Washington DC. Cyrus's super nice friend Brittany not only picked me up from Harvard, to go to the fireside, she even drove us to the airport that night.
It was such a fun trip. I remember I had erased my iPod on accident and found out some really unexpected and bad news the Friday before, and this trip was the antidote to that. So just why exactly am I blogging about this three years later.
Well next month I am going to Dallas to see the Cougs play OU at the new Texas Stadium, and I am now working on putting together a trip to New Orleans to see BYU play Tulane. If you are interested in going to either of those games let me know.
I am really excited for football season. But I'm pretty sure you knew that.

I am little disappointed that this blog post was not about the Mary thing...but I will live.
Football season is going to be amazing this year! I can't wait for it to start!!
I stopped reading at "no such luck..."
Haha. Just kidding, I read on till I realized it was about the BYU football team, then I stopped. For real.
P.S. add me ;)
Peter, yes I do read and yes, I do remember a certain special someone. Although that was almost 7 years ago. Wow. I think you and I disagree on the accuracy of the physical description, however, and anyway, what does it say about someone who describes themselves thusly? That's like me describing myself as a bit of Tom Cruise mixed with a little Brad Pitt (I am certainly not, for all those who dont know me). Come on. People should know better. But I am excited for your triumphant return to Texas and can't wait to see you next month.
Um, I would like to go to New Orleans, but I'm not really the biggest BYU fan.
