Halos in the Charm City

It is no revelation that I enjoy watching the Angels play on the East Coast(http://petechat.blogspot.com/2008/06/feeling-love-with-angels.html) (http://petechat.blogspot.com/2007/09/simply-amazing.html) ( I enjoy watching the Angels play anywhere). My beloved halos were in Baltimore Friday-Saturday-Sunday and Monday. I made the trip to three of the games and watched the fourth on TV. I thought I might hit a few of the Highlights.

Friday night was a man's evening. Senors Nelson, Johnston, and Kurtz accompanied me up to Camden Yards. It was student night, and since Tyler is a student he was able to get us six dollar tickets. We got there a little late and the Angels were winning 2-0 in the first. That lead didn't last long, and Jered Weaver struggled through most of the game. When the Angels got it down to four runs with runners on it seemed like things would be a bit more promising, they didn't. It never got closer than 9-5 and the Orioles ended up winning 16-6. Felix Pie the left fielder for the O's hit for the cycle. It was the fourth in team history. The crazy thing was that Dan and I were there for the last time it happened, and it was against the Angels. It was hard to get really fired up because the Angels were playing from behind. We did manage to heckle Pie a bit, and told some Oriole fan to pipe down. Dan and I did not participate in the "Wave" Tyler and Joe did. Although I was sad that the Halos had lost we stopped at 7/11 on the way home and got slurpees in a Baroness cup. Joe, Dan, and myslef are all in love with the Baroness.
Saturday, I helped Holly move a refrigerator into her house. Now some of you are likely thinking how did you and Holly move a full sized refrigerator? The answer...forearm forklifts. Now I don't think that they deserve there own blog post but they do deserve a mention.

These things really do work. There is no way we could have carried that thing from the truck to the house and up the steps without them. If you are moving heavy things I highly recommend them. I was supposed to help my friend Tristan move, I even borrowed McMary's car drove over to where I thought I was supposed to be and never got close. I have no idea, and I didn't have Tristan's phone number saved. FAIL.I did however race home from Holly's and changed into my Angels gear. Jim had acquired tickets and they were great seats. Right behind home plate. Jim, Meg, and MJ rooted for the Orioles, while Katie wisely chose to root for the Angels. John Lackey pitched great. Nobody hit a home run, thus no cheesecake, but the weather, final score and company were outstanding. Katie, and Angel's owner Arte Moreno agree that Erick Aybar is their favorite Angel.
I didn't go to the game on Sunday, but I did watch it on TV. The Angels blew a late lead, but then scored nine runs in the 13th. I ate two dinners that night, thank you Meg and Adri, for the BBQ and Meg's prom pictures. Thanks you Don Draper (Dan Nelson) and Dick Whitman (Joe Johnston) for the pre Mad Men premiere dinner. The Meat Loaf was outstanding.
Monday rolled around and I was pretty tired. I wavered on whether or not i would go to the game. Dan said he was in, and I thought I never regret going. We booked it up to Baltimore for the series finale and boy am I glad I did. I had recently purchased a Wally Joyner throwback jersey online in anticipation of wearing to this series. I was afraid it wouldn't arrive in time as it was being shipped from Canada. I was so excited when it was there waiting for me when I got home. It looked so good and I was excited to wear it to the game.
It was a Monday night so the stadium wasn't crowded. We bought the cheapest tickets and that moved up and sat in some great seats along the third baseline. We picked a great spot as a little guy named Tommy sitting behind us danced his little heart out and got fan of the game. That meant two things. We appeared on the Jumbotron and we got free pretzles. The Nagels played awesome. Vlad hit a homerun and I was in HalosHeaven. Then an inning or two later Orioles manager Dave Trembley made the worst baseball move I had ever seen. With two outs and a runner on second he intentionally walked Bobby Abreu to pitch to Vlad. I thought to myself, that doesn't seem like a good idea. As the word's I hope he hits a three run bomb came out of Dan's mouth, the crack of the bat and Vlad had done just that. A three run bomb, his second Home Run that night. I was jumping up and down. it was so great.

And the icing on the cake. Well someone near the left field foul pole had a few too many to drink and decided to make a run for it. I'll let the video tell the story.

The good guys took three of four, and it was a great baseball weekend.
