I haven't had much to write about the last few days. Rather than put something up that no one cares about (chances are you never care what I post anyway), just so I had a post, I wrote nothing. Today is one of those days where I have a few little things I want to write about.
1. The Magnum. Yesterday I was at Target minding my business when I found myself in the frozen food section. I looked at one of the end aisle cases and thought that ice cream bar looks very familiar. I had a toddler moment as I was simply looking at the picture and not reading the box. I thought wow that looks like a Magnum. And guess what, it was. I think I gasped when I realized it.
What is the Magnum you might be asking yourself? Well if you sent anytime in Europe, or apparently Hong Kong, you may have feasted on this frozen treat. I may have this wrong but I credit my third companion Thomas Adamson for letting me know about the Magnum. It's an Ice cream bar with two layers of chocolate or caramel, and it appears now there are a few other options. On a summer day you let it melt a bit and let me tell you, it was go time. It's funny becuase back when I was a missionary I think they cost about 18 SEK which at the time was around two dollars. We couldn't eat one everyday so it was a treat to ourselves. I distinctly remember stopping at the kiosk and buying them on the way to the lägenhet (apartment). Up until yesterday I had never seen it available in the United States. I haven't been to Europe in like six years but you better believe the last time I was there, I ate one.
Now it's possible that it won't be as good as I remember, but it's still kind of exciting.
Between Twitter, Facebook, and Pete Chat I do a fair amount of posting. You know how I love comments. When I posted the picture on Facebook I got a fairly large and positive reaction. It turns out that I am not the only one who was obsessed by the Magnum.
2. I went home for a short trip over the weekend, in an attempt to have my entire immediate family in the same place at the same time. We were once again thwarted in our attempts to do that, as my brother in law Don was out of town on business. It was a very short, but very fun trip. I had lots of fun with my family, and I absolutely love having all my nieces and nephews in the same place at the same time. I have had the same picture as the desktop for my computer for a long time.
Since we have now added young master William to the fold, my new desktop will be some variation of this.
It's pretty much impossible to get six kids looking cute, and at the camera at the same time, but it's close enough.
Jenn and Marc seem pretty serious about moving back to SoCal. I told them if that was really the case, I wouldn't be far behind.
Shannon gets big props for taking me to the Airport on Friday Morning at 5:00 AM and picking me up on Monday Morning at 2:00 AM. Her efforts were rewarded with a box a Sees Candy, which I noticed she took home with her and I see no sign of. Thank you Chrissi for the suggestion.
3. This weekend is our Ward Activity. I wanted to give it some funny name like: Colonial First Ward First Annual Bracketology Challenge to Celebrate the Big Dance Which is Not Actually A Dance.
My committee and I came up with the Idea in January and had it very liberally usurped by someone else in the ward for a Relief Society activity. I was fuming about this, and despite what they say about imitation being the sincerest form of flattery, I say get your own ideas and stop stealing mine.
I have been working "hard" on the marketing of the event so that everyone knows about it and that we have a good showing. I filled out my bracket and have the Cougs going to the Final Four. Yes this may be a bit myopic but c'mon, it's the Cougars, and it's Jimmer.

I care about what you wrote today. My favorite was the Magnum Mayan Mystica - it was kind of spicy.
Shannon is a keeper!
im sorry, but in the USofA, a magnum is NOT an ice cream treat... it maybe a treat but... anyway, this is just not where i was expecting your post to go when i first started reading it. that is all.
I picked Jimmer and the fellas to go to the finals... but I didn't pick them to win. They may not make it that far, but they would think I didn't love them if I didn't at least give them a shot, right?
And I love me some Magnum. Found them in Mexico on vacay with the fam, and I was pleased to be reunited with them in Spain. But I like the vanilla kind with nuts on the outside.
Wow! Nice to know you were in town... after the fact! :-)
I would have to say that I had a similar reaction to Mary when I saw you post the ice cream treat on FB. Mine was more of a "what an unfortunate name for an ice cream treat" type thought. I do want to try a magnum though. The ice cream kind, silly!
Yet another time you were in SoCal and I didn't get to see you. Poopington misses his Godfather.
