My Trip Home

This past weekend I went home to sunny Southern California for my parents 40th anniversary and the blessing of my new niece Kate. I had a chance to go to the Angel game with Marc, Don, and Patrick.
Kate is absolutely adorable. Everything she does is precious. She is so cute.
Haydan and Bronte were excited to style my hair. They went for the mini pony tails. I think it is a rather flattering look .
Mom was able to go to church for the first time in two months. Everyone was so happy to see her there. It was great having the whole family together.
There are so many things to mention about this short but quite rewarding trip home. I think I'll use the bullet points to hit the highlights.
  • On the flight from DC-Denver I saw the movie "Breach". It was a good movie and especially interesting because it takes place in Washington DC.
  • On the flight from Denver to LA I sat next to a really cute girl who happened to be Swedish. Her name was Cecilia. Unfortunately she was on her way to meet her Swedish boyfriend Cristofer. I gave her lots of suggestions and recommended that she eat at IN-N-Out and that they should go to Disneyland. I actually saw Cristofer before she did. I can recognize a Swede anytime.
  • In an karmic moment Jennifer, Marc, and myself all arrived at the airport at approximately the same time. We met up with Chrissi and I got to see Kate and Savannah.
  • Mom and Dad were very excited to have me home.
  • Chrissi and I ate at IN-N-Out. It was delicious.
  • The Angels won the game in the 11th inning. It was a come from behind win and the Rally Monkey was in full effect. I ate two hot dogs, a lemonade and a helmet Sunday.
  • Gavin is such a character. I just love that kid.
  • Marc understands the importance of Blackberry Chat. Don does not.
  • The things that I wanted to do but ran out of time: See Barber, Josh, B-Rock, Thomas, and the Dickinsons, Go to Disneyland, have my haircut by Mary.
  • Bronte gave a talk in Church and everyone was there. She was terrific and it got dusty in the room.
  • The Primary Kids sang the "Hello" song to me.
  • Red Eye flights are no fun.

After looking at your pictures, I have to say you are a good looking guy. Especially in the picture with Kate. No wonder you and Frank Thomas have so much fun together.

Can you imagine what Fred McGriff could have done with that oversized Angels cap if the bill was flat a la the Tom Emanski commercial...what a disappointment.

It was so fun to see you in Cali. Thanks for being a part of Kate's blessing - it almost makes up for your missing Savannah's . . . ;)
