Now we knew we wanted to send him out in style (and btw he is coming back here in six months) and one event in his honor would not be enough, so with the help of some good friends particularly McMary we set about to celebrate this young man and his epic journey.
Nothing says farewell quite like a trip to our favorite bowling alley. I sorta like bowling but after the disaster that was the ward talent show I wasn't really excited about it and had it not been in honor of Michael I would not have attended but alas I did. We headed over to Ft. Meyer and after the thorough inspection of our vehicle we hit the lanes.
Dan and Matt contemplate what life will be like sans Michael for the next six months.
Peter, Kaylyn, and Ryan. So excited that Ryan remembered to take his socks off.
A lot of whether or not bowling is fun depends on the group you go with. We had a very fun group. Out favorite newly weds Ryan and KP as well as Linc and Ali. We were privileged to have Kami and Diana who are never together, the 3076 guys and the lovely Katie Lund. Some of our favorites were missing but this was a great group. We bowled and laughed and I snapped a lot of candid and less candid pics that I'll put on Facebook.
I think I bowled better than I ever had in my whole life. I mean I have only broken 100 a handful of times in my life and I bowled a 142. Needless to say I was pretty pleased with myself.
Anyone can make good Meat Sauce but not everyone will bowl a 142.
I was so glad that I went. We had a lot of fun and celebrated Michael. That being said we wanted to make sure and really give him a proper farewell. Thus it was decided to have a second event in his honor on Tuesday.
That being said I am really tired right now so I will blog about part two tomorrow.

I love bowling! Remember the days spent at the grungy Friendly Hills Bowling Alley? That place was OG.
Seriously though - don't play with Jill or Marc, those two are fierce. They don't play.
Way to win it.
