I had a few thoughts that I wanted to share and thought what better place to do it than the friendly confines of Pete Chat.
- Yes I am a grown man, and yes I do enjoy Halloween a lot. This year I had "delusions of grandeur" that a big group of my friends and I would dress up as casual Star Wars characters. It ended up being Joe and I. I was casual Chewbacca. This meant no shaving or haircut (both rectified on Monday) for a month , my Chewie T-Shirt and a handmade bandolier (belts from Goodwill and altoid containers). I went to a church dance and as I should have anticipated virtually no one "got" my costume. I guess anytime you try to be subtle (something I rarely am) your efforts aren't appreciated to the extent you might have hoped. The dance was fun though, and I danced my giant Wookie heart out.
- Well it is November and that of course means it is my birthday month. Not just any birthday month but my 30th birthday month. Joe and Holly have already passed the thirty threshold and in 17 days I will too. If you are wondering I am indeed freaking out about this. These milestone birthdays are always a time to consider my place in the universe, evaluate my goals, and make plans for the future. That is a lot to deal with. Any advice on turning 30 would be much appreciated.
- You may or may not know that November is also Movember. I shaved my Wookie beard into a mustache for one evening (when I saw myself in the mirror this morning I recoiled in horror) but since I can't really grow a mustache I instead pledged ten dollars to the cause, which benefits men's health awareness.
- That brings me to my next thought, that being goatees. I occasionally grow a goatee, and you know what? It is ridiculous. I was looking at some wedding pictures (not mine) and the groom had a goatee and I thought to myself, why didn't he shave that thing. It looked dumb. In my opinion goatees generally look dumb, and yet on occasion I have one. I have no real explanation for this.
- The Lakers are undefeated, the 49ers won their game and the Cougars didn't lose (they had a bye) I call that a triumphant sports weekend. I was happy and proud to be able to wear my 49ers tie today.
- I have yet to receive pictures from my sisters Chrissi and Jennifer from Halloween. They need to get on that immediately. My cousin Danielle sent me a picture of my cousin Jacqueline as a fancy Unicorn. It's enough to make Lady Gaga proud.
- Sunday night McMary had a Halloween dinner at her house. I asked Mary if there was going to be a program. She responded with an impromptu parade around 23rd St. I believe that generally our neighbors enjoyed the spectacle. We went down the street and even through the 7-11. I will remind you that the median age of this group has to be about 28 (possibly older). So I am not the only who continues to have the Halloween spirit.
- Yesterday David Zobell otherwise known as David Z along with Rachel Murdoch gave the performance of a lifetime at FHE. Both of them deserve major props for being good sports.

TMP 1 (which is a good thing, not too much).
David Z sent me this link to indicate his stardom. Just wanted to note that I heard random peopleat my house talking about how you were casual Chewbacca, so I think it was a success. Congrats! Can't wait until next Monday when you give a concert with two investigators in the crowd...
wow. i'm on a roll with my pete chat's comments tonight. BUT I just felt like it needed to be said that I totally 'got' your costume at the dance! that is all. -whit
